Even though Google offers a lot of space for emails these days, inboxes sometimes still fill up. With Slimbox, you can now download pictures and other attachments within your emails to your computer, and optionally remove them from the original emails. This frees up the space in your inbox without losing information.
The Beta version is free, but it does expire.
Slimbox uses OAuth 2.0 to connect with Google, which means that your password is never exposed to the application.
Slimbox never sends any information about your emails to external servers. This can be checked using network inspectors, e.g. Wireshark.
You can choose to process only emails with attachments larger than 1, 2, 3, 5, or 10 megabytes. Emails can also be de/selected one-by-one or all-at-once.
It is easy to find the original email using the attachment name. Similarly, it is easy to find the original attachment using the slim email.
If you would like to test whether Slimbox is working correctly, you might want to create a test email with attachments, then process only that email. As a second step, you can process some/all emails, but disable the removal of attachments from emails. Finally, try removing attachments from a few emails.
